Christmas Events

Christmas eve we headed up to the Botanical gardens to see the train display. The kids really liked Thomas the train. The set up of the whole thing was really beautiful!

We then went to the National Harbor to see the waterskiing Santa. Not only did we see Santa, but we saw his reindeer, frosty the snowman, the grinch, and elves. I don't think the kids liked it that much cause it was so cold, but I thought it was pretty cool. Those people are absolutely insane because it was FREEZING!

Here is everyone in their new pjs

Christmas morning was a blast. We all had a good time opening gifts. Here is Lexi putting on some makeup she got from Germ

presents!

It looked like a bomb went off at our place

And here's our little chunkers in his new overalls...so cute!

Lexi in a new outfit and her walk pup

That night we went to the temple to watch the nightly performance, which was awesome!, and see the lights. We met our law school friends, the Heidenreich's and the Parson's. It was a great night.

snug as a bug

It was a great day to be together as a family and that we could celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was a fun season to do some service and teach the kids a little more about why we celebrate Christmas!

Wow, another year come and gone, can you believe it??? A wonderful year it has been. Looking back, we were lucky enough to do a lot and visit a lot of places. The year started out with a trip to Hawaii with the Bair family. All I have to say is…it was AWESOME! A big thanks to grandma and grandpa Crane for watching the kids for us. Throughout the year we also got to visit New York, Baltimore, WA for our annual Twin Lakes trip, Lake Shasta with the Crane’s, and a highlight was going to Tehema and Los Melinos and getting a tour of where Tyson’s grandparent grew up. We’ve had many visitors and are always grateful when people will come to visit us (hint hint)!

We welcomed the fifth member of our family this year! Coleson Davis was born on October 22. He’s such a cutie! He’s two months old now and is our chunky, fat baby. He’s in the 90th percentile for his weight and 75th for height. He’s very smiley and even started laughing the other day. It’s so much fun to see all these milestones again!

Jace turned 3 this year and is becoming quite a smart little boy. He’s been learning his letters, can spell his name, and can count to ten in Spanish and up to 30 in English. He loves reading books and doing puzzles. I swear he would do these two things all day long, if I could handle it. He was easily potty trained before our trip to Hawaii at the beginning of the year. He got to go on his first father’s and sons’ outing , which he thought was pretty cool…dirt and sticks, what else could you ask for? He continues to make us laugh and is such a sweetheart to his little brother. He’s really embraced his role as “big brother.”

Lexi is 5 and started kindergarten this year, where she is known as Alexa. She enjoys school and learning. She’s become quite crafty since starting school. She would rather do crafts and workbooks than play. I guess I’d better just enjoy that before I have to start hounding her about homework. She is such a good little girl, such a good listener and very cooperative. The only thing she ever gets in trouble for is being in the baby’s face too much. She was in her first dance recital this summer and is now taking gymnastics.

Tyson’s been taking advantage of his last year of his twenties by playing on a soccer league and was also able to participate in the Ragnar relay (a 2 day, 200 mile race), running 18 miles. His body is wearing down, so he may not be able to do those things once he hits 30. He is keeping very busy at work and serves in the church as a Sunday school teacher for the 14-17 year olds.

Most of my year was spent being pregnant, which meant a lot of the year I was sick and tired. However, the kids and I were able to make many trips to the Smithsonian museums, the zoo, and pretty much spent the summer at the pool. I am adjusting to three kids and still enjoy scrapbooking, playing the piano, and am excited take on some sewing projects with my new sewing machine! At church I serve as the YW personal progress advisor and the choir pianist.

What a wonderful time of year that we have to really, and more fully, reflect upon the birth, life, and sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are so blessed to have a perfect example that we can strive to emulate. May you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year!

Trip to WA

The kids and I took off for a week and a half to go see my family in WA. Yes, that meant flying across the US with three kids by myself. Yes, I am one brave woman, and Yes, they did awesome! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful kids! We stayed in Seattle with my sister, Heather for a day. She let her kids stay home from school and it was SO cute to see Max play with Jace all day!

We had a good time in Ephrata. Some of the highlights were:

Dressing my THREE kids up in coordinating outfits...so fun!

Snuggle time with Grandma

Photo shoot with cousin James. These boys are three months apart. It was pretty comical to watch Kim try and get them to smile. I'm surprised this was the best we got with all the faces and sounds she was making.

It was quite the event trying to get a picture of the four of us...let's just say my mommy fangs came out.

Playing with Ellen

My sister-in-law, Necia, came over with the kids almost every day. More cousin time! Here are the kids doing some crafts

Visiting with grandma Bair. Coleson was her 80th great grand baby

Celebrating Kyle's birthday

Ellen becoming my best friend...only takes a little cake and icecream!

Playing in the snow. Ben and my dad (and kids) built this snowman...pretty impressive huh?

My little niece Jillian. She looks like a little precious moments doll.

Making/decorating/eating sugar cookies

Other highlights included going to see Tangled (cutest movie every), watching Natalie and Katrina sing at RS night, going to Maren's preschool program, watching Ben chase the kids around the house, learning how to play Wizard, sewing (yes, I am becoming a seamstress), singing jingle bells while kids were running around the house and babies crying...it got pretty loud at times, and I LOVED it! To see more pictures you can check out Kim's blog too: centerfamily06.blogspot.com

It was a great trip. Thanks mom and dad!

Ticonderoga Farms

The day after Thanksgiving we went to Ticonderoga Farms with our good friends, the Woods, and picked out a Christmas tree. This place was great! It had slides, teeter totters, teepees, animals, Santa, etc. The kids were in heaven!

The majority of the time was spent at the slides...Lexi was a little hesitant at first, but then realized it wasn't so bad...especially since Jace thought they were the best thing ever!

smiles

Coleson started smiling last week and I finally got a picture of it. Don't you just want to pinch his squishy cheeks?

We had to take some pictures with Picadilly...the class bear. He's come to our house three times...always an exciting day when Picadilly gets to come visit. This is just a cute one of all the kiddies in front of the Christmas tree that we got to pick out and cut down ourselves...I'll save those pics for another post.

Blessing Day

Yesterday we blessed Coleson at church. Tyson gave a wonderful blessing and it was so great that both sets of grandparents could be there for it!

Family of 5...crazy!

I couldn't find any white outfits that I liked, so I went the nontraditional way and picked out this cute suit to bless him in
