1st day of School!

Here's my little Lexter all ready for 2nd grade.

Jace is in afternoon kindergarten so he gets to continue to sleep in, which is good for Jace cause anyone who knows him knows that waking up early does not happen often.  He got up this morning around 9:30. He's going to have to go to bed at 6 next year when he goes all day.

Coleson wanted his picture taken too.

Now he's excited!

His gang: Teagin, Jesse, Ben, Jace

Coleson was so sad he didn't get to ride the bus

My big kiddos, where has the time gone?

Melt my heart that they are still good friends...I'm hanging on to this as long as I can :-)

Hiawatha trail

Labor day weekend we went with my bro and his family and our good friends, the Paikuli's, to the Hiawatha trail.  I've been wanting to do this all summer and knew we had to squeeze it in before school started.  It's an 18 mile bike ride, gradually downhill so the kids can do it, and it is absolutely gorgeous.  The first part of the trail is a mile long tunnell, so you have to wear headlamps.  It was such a fun and beautiful ride!

Jace rode on a tag along bike which he loved so much he wanted to take it home with us.

Do yo see Coleson in there?  He got a good 17 minute nap.

California love

Back in August we got to spend some time in California with Tyson's family. The kids and I flew out on Monday and stayed for almost 2 weeks.  It was a awesome trip...expect that it started like this:

Hand foot and mouth disease.  We looked at changing our flight but weren't willing to pay $450 to change them and after no cooperation from the airline we carried on with our plans.  So sorry everyone who happened to be on the same flight as us, your kids got the disease from us.  The kids and I decided to go and stay with Germ and Germp for a few days so we could keep them away from Aveya, our niece and potentially little Carson, our nephew, who is only 4 months old.

Germ took us to Pixieland, one of the kids favorite places to go in Cali.

Coleson was so funny while we were there.  If Germ wasn't giving him her full attention he would keep saying "Germ...Germ...Germ"  over and over again.  I think she loved it!

After 4 days we hooked up with everyone and went to the Jelly Belly factory.

Kids had fun making a water blurb

I think Jace won this trophy for holding himself up in between two chairs for 57 seconds or something like that.  So strong

Uncle Burn time

We headed up to the family cabin for the Lumberjack Olympics

The crew

which happened to be the same day as our 9th anniversary.  Man we are getting old!

I can't find the pics but the first day we did a team triathlon.  We drew names to see who would be on our team. Here are the cheerleaders for the finishing runners.

Another highlight of the trip was meeting little Carson. Devin and Kaydee were able to adopt this little guy who Lexi just couldn't get enough of.  We are so excited for them and Carson!!!

Keeping with the Lumberjack theme

Also went boating a couple days

Such a fun trip.  Had a great time even if Kaydee did kick my bootay in the swim. We also had fun shopping, canoeing, doing zumba, catching mice, playing mario brothers, doing puzzles, playing scum, and listening to Coleson say "Burn" every 5 seconds.

We also got to meet up with the Pratts for a few hours, very last minute.  We haven't seen these guys since law school so it was great to catch up.  The kids didn't really remember each other but it only took them a good 5 minutes before they were best friends again.
