Island Park

After spending the whole month of July in WA, Tyson flew out from there to take the bar, and I ended up driving all the way back to Utah with the kids by myself. The kids did amazingly well, and I amazingly did not fall asleep at the wheel. I didn't know I had it in me. The day after we got back, Tyson flew in and we headed up to Island Park to spend some time with our law school buds. Thanks so much to Casey for inviting us and letting us stay at his sweet cabin. We had a blast. The cabin was right on the water, so we got to take the boat out, we went ATVing, river rafting, and the kids had a ball dressing up and playing together.

Miles

This summer has flown by! We've been gone a lot the past two months. Tyson and I were figuring out how many miles we've driven lately and we had a rough guess of about 4,000 miles. Well, I did a break down:

Trip to WA and back - 1510 miles
Ephrata, WA to Twin Lakes (and back) - 332 miles
Ephrata to Auburn, WA (and back)- 338 miles
Orem, UT to Island Park, ID (and back) - 662 miles
Orem to Colfax, CA (Rollins Lakes) - 641 miles
Colfax to Oakley, CA - 117 miles
Oakley to Shasta lake (and back) - 440 miles
Oakley to Thousand Oaks, CA - 361 miles
Thousand Oaks back to Orem - 685 miles

Total miles driven since July 3 = 5,086 miles!!!

We are crazy! The kids are amazing! And we're looking forward to our drive next Monday to Virginia...add another 2,108 miles on to the previous number...A TON OF DRIVING!

Stay tuned for updates on all the fun we've been having!

Twin Lakes

We headed to WA a month ago to go to our annual Twin Lakes vacation with my family. The weather wasn't the greatest, but we all still had a fun time. Tyson even took a break from studying for a day to join us.

My dad made a zip line...huge hit!

Another highlight...going to the store to get ice cream cones!

My hard core brother took a nasty fall while riding bikes around the lake

Digging in the dirt

We did have nice weather for a day and the girls had fun swimming in the freezing water

Family pic...all together!

Lexi had a good time fishing with uncle Ben...isn't that the cutest picture?

And one of our favorite highlights from the trip...these cute dainty girls spitting sunflower seeds.

Being a mom

This past Saturday I was helping my mom clean and the house and Lexi decided she wanted to help grandma clean the bathroom. A little while later she came up to me and said "Mom, I'm learning how to be a mom....I'm cleaning toilets!" Wow! Nothing like being a mom :-)

Food Glorious Food!

It's been so much fun being here in Utah, at the house with everybody. It has also been so fun to have a garden! For those of you who don't know, I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh green beans from the garden. I could seriously live off of them. So we planted a lot of bush and pole beans, tomatoes, snap peas, zucchini, squash, onion, carrots, and pepper. We ate our first zucchini last night and have a bag of beans in the fridge right now...which I will enjoy for lunch today.

Aren't they just pretty???
